Instead I wanted to focus on the anachronism between a futuristic mobile suit walking though a 19th century pastoral scene. The contrast is quite stunning I think!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe top cartouche reads \u003cspan lang=\"JA\"\u003e可動\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"JA\"\u003e鎧 - and the \u003cem\u003efurigana\u003c\/em\u003e (tiny characters next to the \u003cem\u003ekanj\u003c\/em\u003ei) literally say \"mobile suit\".\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"JA\"\u003eThe bottom cartouche says 幾度とり払われるとも止めどなく花をうえつづけるぞ, which means, \"No matter how many times they get wiped away, we will never stop replanting the flowers.\"\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"JA\"\u003eThe red seal in the top-right area is actually a kanji created by the Japanese calligrapher Monyaizumi. If you look closely, it resembles something...
